Nothing like a dip in the morning to start the day off. Solstice (our shortest day) passed much like any other day with the thought that the days would start getting longer by a second a day! Will it be noticed for a while? Your morning swim sounds so delightful that I felt I was there too, possibly minus my knickers 😆

lol!! Breezy! I’m trying to block out the idea that the days are now getting shorter over here 🙈 Happy winter solstice!!

Sounds like a lovely start to a lovely day! Unfortunately I’ve never lived where the solstice is celebrated.

You could start something... 🌞 I've never really made much of it before, either - but perhaps it's because I did do this, this year, it seemed I noticed the day more than previously. It was definitely a long one!!

Thanks Gina! I think getting up and out early is good whether it’s swimming or walking - best time of day, I’m sure you’ll agree!

An unforgettable way to celebrate the summer solstice! Perfect weather, and being with other like minded people, must have added to the enjoyment. I hope you bought your cinnamon bun on the way home too.

Definitely! It was so perfect. No to the cinnamon bun, but I managed to find some croissants in the supermarket. See, I even managed to do the grocery shopping and still got home before anyone was up!

A wonderful piece of writing, loved hearing about your early morning dip. You write so beautifully, it is like listening to you talking, so natural and friendly.

Sending love from a very warm Woolverstone, in Suffolk. Ju xxx

Thank you Julia, that really does mean a lot to me - I never thought of myself as a writer!

You are definitely a writer - you wrote this, and all the other posts, and they are entertaining and utterly relatable. I enjoy them every time I get around to reading them. (And I have swimming envy now, as I write this from a wet little trip to Bergen - other bits of the trip were glorious through, so not complaining).

Thank you Janina! I've never been to Norway in the (summer?) but I know that Bergen has a bit of a reputation ☔🌧️☔!! Enjoy the rest of your trip!
