Thank you LeeAnne, it’s ok as long as I don’t try to do too much! And commiserations for last week, the shockwaves have and will continue to reach these shores too.
I keep a paper calendar on the frig and make daily “to do” lists on scrap paper. Anything more complicated is doomed to fail. The simpler the better! Then I have more time to play.
Hi Izzy, I hope this finds you well. I've sent you a DM via Instagram also because I wasn't sure which was the best way to reach out to you. I'm just needing some guidance, please. I purchased your "Little Christmas Trees" online course some time ago and now that I'm ready to get stuck in I can't work out how to access it. I'm wondering if you sent a link for the course via email? If that is the case I think I've deleted it in the process of upgrading our computer. I've also had a look on Podia to no avail. So if you could refresh my memory please, that would be greatly appreciated! Isn't it always the way, when you're ready to get started and then you find you can't!! Thanks again, Gillian Smith.
Oh no! Hope your toe heals quickly! I too am in a bit of a funk...election day... and then an unexpected knee injury that I'm hoping won't require surgery. I guess we both have more sit-down time for sewing and creating!
Oh I’m sorry to hear that Karen. I hope you can avoid surgery 🤞 - and yes to the sitting down! Cabin fever might be creeping in, but I’m getting a lot done 😉
Sorry about your poor little toe!! Now you can sit and sew like a demon with the best excuse for not doing any of those boring jobs ……….. like housework or cooking 😂🤣
I do hope you recover from life’s big and little vicissitudes really quickly . Perhaps your body is trying to tell you to take a deep breath and slow down just a little. I love your work , I love your personality and I think you are really very funny, so keep writing. In a world gone mad, you do offer me , something delightful each week and it certainly helps. 👍
Ah, thank you Marilyn. You’re probably right - it was in rushing about that I did it to myself. House arrest for the most part now, promise! I’ll just stomp about at home and stay in: don’t want to get my snazzy padded boot wet in the rain!
Izzy, so sorry to hear about your toe. My husband can commiserate. He kicked the door frame, cried out and went down. I went to see what happened, he said ‘stubbed my toe, it hurts but I’m fine.’ I looked at his foot, gagged and said I don’t think so, it’s perpendicular to your foot. He pushed it back (another gag from me) and hobbled to the couch. I got him ice. He wouldn’t go to the
ER for a few days. When he did see,his doctor, they said yes, it’s broken, seems to be back in place and did the tape job. 5 weeks later he’s “aware of it” but walking normally and without pain. Obviously I would never qualify to be a nurse.
As to our election in the US, I have to say I’m supremely disappointed neither party could come up with a viable candidate. I won’t go further than that, this is not a political forum and I hate politics anyway.
Back to art, I love the color and movement in the pice you completed this week. Hopefully you, can work your foot pedal with either foot? Good luck and heal quickly.
Thanks Nancy! Oof, that sounds horrid, I’m glad it’s mended-ish now. Mine is only slightly dinged to look at, but hard to compare to ‘normal’ because I reckon I also broke the other one about 20 years ago so that’s not straight either! The ‘rock and a hard place’ situation was a bit the same here in the UK, this last summer. The suits all need to give their heads a wobble and sort themselves out, while the rest of us get on with life!
Thanks Birdy. I was tempted to go find arnica if it wasn’t such a hilly hobble to the chemist - my grandmother and aunts swore by the stuff, never left home without it.
Hi Izzy, I wasn’t sure how to reach out to you so I’ve also DM’d you via Instagram. I purchased some time ago your “Little Christmas Trees” online course but now that I’m ready to get stuck in I can’t find the link. I’m assuming you emailed a link to access it on Podia? We recently updated our computer and I think I might’ve accidentally deleted the email with the link (if in fact that was what was sent). I’ve tried a couple of other methods to no avail. Hoping you can help! Cheers and thanks, Gillian.
So sorry about your injury. Small ones can still cause too much pain. Hoping you feel better soon.
And many of us in America are shocked and dismayed about the election results.
LeeAnne

Happy New a year!
Now that is very wise! Happy New Year!

Thank you! I might print this out and tape it to my back in case anyone wonders where dinner is 😂

Exactly. Maybe you can make crooked toes a new thing!
😅
Thank you for sharing your art and stories. Threadnodle is always a highlight in my in-box!
Thank you Liz!! Thank you for reading 😀
I covered mine in Arnica cream, did wonders. And yes, we must keep the beauty spreading! Thanks for all you pass around! 🫶💞
Thanks Birdy. I was tempted to go find arnica if it wasn’t such a hilly hobble to the chemist - my grandmother and aunts swore by the stuff, never left home without it.
As a recent recoveree from a broken arm I sympathise and hope you heal quickly. So true everything you said about our NHS. And agent orange 😬
Thanks Marilyn! I can confirm this wasn’t anywhere near as painful as breaking an arm - which I also have experience of 😅
Ouch. Heal soon. ❤️
Thanks Kate!
Ooh that's painful, I hope it turns out to be straightforward after all. Thank you for sharing the quote about being bound to the good.
Thanks you Fiona, luckily not too painful unless I accidentally bump into things 🙄 😅
Get some comfrey salve for when you have access to your toe. And take some collagen peptides ...all good for healing bones.
Ooh, interesting - thank you!
Ouch! Hope you heal quickly. Loving those colourful pieces of sewing that are decorating the page.
Thank you Alison 🤩
I hope it heals quickly x
Thanks Gina
