Thank you for this post, Izzy. Exhibiting is definitely a challenge, and requires you to "put yourself out there", for good or bad, and hopefully for the public to support and buy. I definitely agree that the current uncertain economy is bad for business, and people all around the world (especially here in Canada), are being cautious with their spending.

Just a thought re Ramster, as the artists aren't there, it probably suffers in sales because of that. Maybe schedule a couple of days for each artist to be present, and it would help with sales.

I don't know if you can, but if you could slow down the video, we viewers could get a much better look at the exhibit. Have you contemplated doing on-line sales on your site? Congrats on a beautiful show.

Thanks Linda! Ramster is actually the one where I can more or less guarantee sales - definitely cards and browser pieces, and usually at least one framed piece. So that’s where I’ll continue to concentrate. They do have a private view, but it’s a little too far for me to attend. That’s the only drawback, people enter from far and wide, not just locals so it’d be hard to have a ‘meet the artist’ thing, it isn’t really set up for that. But it does mean more people have a chance to enter; it makes it easier for us that we don’t have to attend. I don’t do anything on my website, it’s all a bit complicated now with overseas postage and regulations. I have a sleeping Etsy shop, but I think selling ‘things’ will have to be domestic only from now on - it’s too complicated! And sorry about the video- it was a reel I did for Instagram so speeded up 😬

Oh Izzy it’s easy to see which card is made by you. :)) The other is so amateurish that you shouldn’t be bothered. Anyway, how wonderful that a person can’t think up their own designs but has to copy yours!!

Thanks Mary ☺️ it wasn’t the card on its own that bothered me so much (except someone did think it was mine, initially - definitely not!) but more the ‘other’ piece that was completely different from the card while simultaneously being completely similar to a certain thing I stitch a lot of and also teach 🤨 - how strange for two totally different things to be almost exactly like two totally different things I make…
